Hola! and welcome to www.salsaeditorial.com -- the website of Jane Cahane, salsa journalist, freelance writer/editor, salsa teacher and dancer on the London, UK and international salsa scene.
A lot of you may have read several of my former articles or comments in previous salsa magazines such as Latin London, ¿Que Pasa? and Salsavine/Dancevine, which are all here included, along with some of the writing I have produced for students in my dance classes and one or two articles I edited for Salsavine that I think are relevant. There is also a blog section, which you are welcome to add your comments to.
As such this site is a self-publication vehicle, since many of these paper-based publications are no longer in circulation. While I am not out to rival www.londonsalsascene.com as an online events magazine, I wish to be able to add my own 'editorial' comments on what I see is happening in the dance scene here in the UK and abroad, as well as to publicise my writing skills for those requiring promotional literature (although I work full-time as a sub-editor in London in addition to teaching salsa part-time in Bucks, I am also a freelance editor, writer, proofreader and artist).
Also, for those who are interested in my classes or guest teaching, I have included details of the classes and club nights where I currently teach, as well as the course information sheets I normally prepare for learners. Please check out my contact details if you are interested in commissioning me for some writing or editing, or wish to know more about my teaching availability or classes. Note: If you would like to write in response to anything featured on this site, or would like to submit an article for publication, please either use the blog section or contact me to discuss using the ‘Contact’ details.
